Masjid Al-Taqwa

Masjidul Taqwa is the oldest masjid on the West Coast, established in 1949 by indigenous African American Muslims. Originally Temple 8 of the Nation of Islam, it transitioned to mainstream Sunni Islam under Imam Warith Deen Muhammad. Today it follows the Quran, Sunnah, and the teachings of Imam W.D. Muhammad.
