The Jefferson Muslim Association (JMA) was founded in 1984 to address the growing needs of the local Muslim community. Masjid Abu-Bakr Al-Siddiq, built in 1988, is the only purpose-built mosque in the greater New Orleans area, featuring a dome and single minaret. JMA fosters unity and spiritual growth through community programs, cultural events, and worship services.
