Turkish Canadian Society has been operating a small masjid inside its cultural centre for two decades to serve the Turkish Canadian Community in Edmonton. In 2016, community members embarked on an ambitious project to build a brand new mosque. Blue Mosque Foundation - Diyanet Edmonton was founded to achieve this goal. Construction started in September 2020.
